Ever sit down to write a blog post and suddenly forget how to blog?
Like, totally blank. Zero ideas. The cursor blinks, mocking you.
And you think, “Maybe I’m not cut out for this blogging thing after all.”
Been there.
But here’s the truth most people won’t tell you: the problem isn’t you. It’s the blank page. And there’s a way to beat it.
Because once you’ve got a structure, a template, suddenly the words come easier. You stop second-guessing. And you actually publish.
So today, I’m handing over 5 simple blog post templates that do half the work for you. No fluff, no fancy copywriting degree needed, just plug in your own experience and hit publish.
Let’s go.
1. “How I Discovered [Product Name]” (aka: Your Story Matters)
Let’s be real, nobody wakes up thinking, “I wonder what affiliate program Rodney’s promoting today.”
But you know what people do care about? A relatable story. Your “before and after.”
I used this format when I was first talking about MAP (Master Affiliates Profit). I didn’t try to sound like a guru, I just told the truth. What wasn’t working, what I found, what changed.
And people listened.
How to do it:
- Start with the struggle (and don’t sugarcoat it).
- Tell us how you found the product, be specific.
- Share your “a-ha” moment or result, even if it’s small.
- Drop the link, but only after the reader cares.
It builds trust faster than any bullet list ever could.
2. The “Top Tools for [XYZ Goal]” Post (Curate Like a Pro)
This one’s like handing someone a cheat sheet.
People LOVE curated lists because they’re overwhelmed. They want someone who’s tried the messy middle and come out the other side saying, “Here. These work.”
You don’t have to be the expert, just be the filter.
Structure it like this:
- Open with a personal note (“I’ve tested a bunch, and these are my go-tos.”)
- Give honest pros + cons for each tool.
- Mention who it’s for (newbies, creators, side-hustlers, etc.)
- Drop affiliate links with zero pressure.
Don’t overthink it. Think like a friend helping a friend.
3. The Step-by-Step Guide (People Need Instructions, Not Inspiration)
Sometimes people want to try affiliate marketing, but they literally don’t know where to begin.
Give them a roadmap.
Start with the goal (build a list, write their first post, etc.), then walk through the steps, like you’re sitting beside them at the kitchen table.
Make it feel doable. Like, “Hey, start here. Then do this. Don’t worry about this part yet.”
Sprinkle in a tool or two that helps, and boom. They’re clicking your link because it actually helps.
4. “Why I Stopped [Bad Strategy] and What I Do Now”
Wanna grab attention? Say what you don’t do anymore.
We’re all curious creatures. If someone says “I stopped running ads,” our brains go, “Wait, why???”
Use that to hook them, then teach.
Example:
“I used to send people straight to affiliate links. Got clicks, sure. But no real connection. Now? I lead with a freebie. Build trust first.”
Boom. You just taught something. And gave them a better way.
5. “Beginner Mistakes to Avoid” (Let Them Learn From Your Messes)
This one’s humble. It’s human. And it’s so relatable.
Don’t pretend you did everything right. Share the missteps.
Like how I spent a year trying to make random solo ads work without a funnel (oops). Or how I ghosted my email list because I didn’t know what to say.
Your audience needs that realness. And they’ll remember it when they see your name pop up again.
End with what does work. Point to a tool or guide you trust. Like the ones you’ve actually used.
